Incentive vs Inspiration. . . And the winner is?

Today is a momentous day!

It marks the end of the procrastinating!
Bring on the training. Bring on the healthy diet. Bring on the fundraising!

Goodness, if only it were that easy.

It sure did happen though! And I am proud of that. It happened in a hurry even.
Thanks to football. So whats the problem then? Well, the plan with this blog was to write tons of inspirational stuff after my runs. To log my progress, and my thoughts. To inspire and make people laugh.

As most of you know however, it is the tail end of bowl week. And tonight, Michigan State plays. Man what a time to consider procrastinating just one more day. "No!" I told myself. "I'll just have to get back in time for kickoff." So thats what I did. I ran like the dickens with one thought in mind the whole time. . . no stopping boy! Football is starting without you. Your mother in law is watching the game the Pete's sake. Your wife is watching the game! How the heck are you not going to be there?! Run!
It worked. I made it back just after kickoff. I felt great. I made great time. 10 min mile, no walking. Wonderful. A success. But wait. . . where did all my inspiring thoughts go? What happened to my enlightment that usually comes with my nightly run? What am I going to write about? I got nothing.
So the winner here in the battle of inspiration vs incentive?
Incentive, hands down.

So my request is then, can someone please arrange for a football game the afternoon of the marathon? I may need a push!

  1. Glad to see you're up and running! Your race in march is on my Birthday! Thus being said, it will be a great day to run! I wish you all the best and you are welcome to join me in training :)

  2. hey, can you lay out your training regimen, or put a link to it, letting us know where you are in it? THX =) (ps ran yesterday and walking partner today cancelled so I did "last chance workout" week 3--almost died!)

  3. I will work hard to get a schedule posted weekly of my training. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of a set schedule, so it changes from week to week. This week I am running alternate 4mi/6mi runs. On Friday I a going to do a longer run of 9 miles.
Kudos on doing the last chance workout! That makes me cry just watching it, much less doing it!

  5. have been suffering from (DIABETES) disease for the past four years and had constant pain, especially in my knees. During the first year,I had faith in God that i would be healed someday. This disease started circulating all over my body and i have been taking treatment from my doctor, few weeks ago i came on search on the Internet if i could get any information concerning the prevention of this disease, on my search i saw a testimony of someone who has been healed from (Hepatitis B and Cancer) by this Man Dr VOKE and she also gave the email address of this man and advise we should contact him for any sickness that he would be of help, so i wrote to Dr. VOKE telling him about my (DIABETES) he told me not to worry that i was going to be cured!! hmm i never believed it,, well after all the procedures and remedy given to me by this man few weeks later i started experiencing changes all over me as the Dr assured me that i have cured, after some time i went to my doctor to confirmed if i have be finally healed behold it was TRUE, So friends my advise is if you have such sickness or any other at all you can email Dr VOKE (doctorvoke@gmail.com) or text him +1(661)-797-0921
