Learning to Juggle

Let me know if anyone can relate to this one. . .
I have to wake up early today to get to work, then when I get home I have a few chores to get done. I need to see the family tonight. Oh, and on my day off some friends needed my help. Maybe its a beautiful Sunday and there's a "honey-do" list waiting for me when I get back from church. Plus the kids want to go to the park. And when am I going to read that book? What about that second job to bring in just a little extra cash? If only there was a few more hours in the day! Then I could fit in some time for exercise, and a healthier meal.
Sound familiar? I know it frames my life pretty straight up. The eternal chase for a few more hours. It really poses a problem when I am trying to figure out how to squeeze in an hour, or maybe two to run without neglecting my wife and family. The other one is conquering the fast food nation. Anyone who knows me knows that I am no cook. And I don't mind swinging through the drive through to save some time in the kitchen. But no matter what they tell you, nothing off that menu is going to do you any good.
So how do you do it? How do I decide what has to go? It was a big decision on Sunday morning when my training called for 4 miles. That day I decided getting MY stuff done around the house was needed instead of church, then take  a run in the afternoon. Not the usual choice, to cut church, but its what I needed. Then it struck me. I'll double up- I grabbed the dog and the wife, and we had a family afternoon at the bay. Perfect. Now we are getting somewhere. Family time and exercise. And everyone is happy! What a great result getting everyone in on the exercise too. It was fun to be there as well and see lots of families doing the same thing. One family was in a circle hitting a volleyball around. That's great exercise! And everyone is outside having fun together too.
Now what about the food though. Need to eat better as well. How about putting something in the slow cooker before you go? I've really taken to lot of snacking. Amazing how far a handful of almonds gets me. I remember hearing that a lot before, and never thought it would be enough, but its just right.
Ultimately for me, I think it has been an adventure of priorities. I know I have to train. I also know, from personal experience, that I don't want to continue eating wrong because its easier and find myself forced to eat better because my body had enough. And truthfully, its a process. And Lord knows I'm not perfect. But man it feels great to be getting better. And by starting with juggling just a few things, and week by week, adding in a little something extra, I'm getting better and better at this life thing.
I ask you now, if you can relate, let me know. Tell me what you do to find time. Solutions for "quick and easy" meals? I'd love to hear them. A favorite exercise that can involve family and friends ? Maybe you are strong willed, and tell yourself these things have to happen. Tell me about.

  1. Umm...I'm going to tell Pastor Karen that you weren't in church because you prioritized on something else. God makes time for you everyday, every minute, every second - shouldn't you make time for him :-) Okay really, I'm just selfish and I like seeing you and Tracy in church!

Everything you talked about is something millions deal with everyday and there never is the right answer. As one individual who has spent a lifetime saying yes to everyone and everything, I am in the practice of saying no so my family and my life are not neglected. What I'm learning is it is ALL important, all of it, every single bit of it!

Keep moving forward, doing what you need to do. The food, the excercise, and the family will always be there.

During the first year,I had faith in God that i would be healed someday. This disease started circulating all over my body and i have been taking treatment from my doctor, few weeks ago i came on search on the Internet if i could get any information concerning the prevention of this disease, on my search i saw a testimony of someone who has been healed from (Hepatitis B and Cancer) by this Man Dr VOKE and she also gave the email address of this man and advise we should contact him for any sickness that he would be of help, so i wrote to Dr. VOKE telling him about my (DIABETES) he told me not to worry that i was going to be cured!! hmm i never believed it,, well after all the procedures and remedy given to me by this man few weeks later i started experiencing changes all over me as the Dr assured me that i have cured, after some time i went to my doctor to confirmed if i have be finally healed behold it was TRUE, So friends my advise is if you have such sickness or any other at all you can email Dr VOKE (doctorvoke@gmail.com) or text him +1(661)-797-0921
